"I have had flat feet my whole life… I used to get away with it for years, but wearing doc martins and vans my whole life, didn’t help me one bit. At 54 now, I can’t pretend they don’t bother me anymore. After trying various inserts, it wasn’t until finding Old Bones Therapy shock absorbing foot insoles have my feet had relief…"
"These insoles have saved two pairs of shoes I thought were unwearable. I have flat feet and the shoes have high arches so these insoles made them super comfortable and I can wear them all day now."
"I had another pair of orthotics thanks to high arches and a gnarly heel spur that has started giving me issues. The others were great, BUT, they did not go the full length of the foot, and I could feel that, after a while. With these fitting the full length and being adjustable, I don't feel the end of the insole digging into me."
Arch Support Insoles: Giving Your Arch Something to Rest On
Your arch works like a spring. It flattens a little as you land and rebounds as you push off, spreading load between your heel and the ball of your foot. Most factory insoles are flat foam, so the shoe gives the arch nothing to rest on. Over a long day on hard floors, the arch is often where you feel it first.
An arch support insole fills that gap with a shaped surface, so pressure spreads across more of the sole instead of piling onto the heel and forefoot.
Two Kinds of Arch Support
All Day Foot Insoles are the dedicated arch pair: a contoured, orthopedic-grade arch on a PU base with EVA foam cushioning, made for standing and walking all day. The breathable top layer wicks moisture on long shifts, and they fit work boots, sneakers and most casual shoes.
Shock Absorbing Foot Insoles put a molded TPU arch support and heel cup under a cushioned PU memory foam footbed. Pick these when your arch needs support and your feet also take impact, from running, court sports or skating.
Flat Feet, High Arches and Fit
Both are off-the-shelf insoles sized S through 2XL by shoe size, not custom-molded orthotics, so the arch isn't shaped to your individual foot. For more on matching an insole to your foot type, see high arch insoles and low arch insoles. If arch pain is sharp or doesn't let up, check with a healthcare provider.
FAQs
Do arch support insoles work?
They change what's under your foot. A shaped arch gives the middle of the foot something to rest on and spreads pressure over more of the sole, which many people find more comfortable than a flat factory liner. They're support, not a fix for a structural foot problem, so ongoing pain is worth a healthcare provider's look.
Is it normal for arch support insoles to feel strange at first?
Yes. If your shoes have been flat, a supported arch takes a week or two to get used to, and some awareness under the arch is normal early on. Wear them a few hours at a time at first and build up to full days.
Should I get firm or cushioned arch support?
If your main need is support through long hours of standing and walking, the All Day Foot Insoles give you firm orthotic arch support. If you also want more cushioning for impact, the Shock Absorbing Foot Insoles set a molded TPU arch under PU memory foam. The 2-Pack includes both.
Will arch support insoles fit in work boots?
Yes. Both styles fit work boots, sneakers and most standard shoes with a removable insole. Take the factory insole out first, order by shoe size and trim along the guidelines on the bottom if you're between sizes.
