"Compression ankle sleeve MAGIC! The very first time at a skate contest in Colorado, my boyfriend told me to pitch this on after icing my ankle. I was in awe about being able to walk. It kept the swelling to a minimum."

Cold Therapy That Stays Where You Put It

Icing a joint usually means a bag of frozen peas, a dish towel, and twenty minutes of sitting still holding it in place. Old Bones ice sleeves wrap the joint in flexible gel and compression at the same time, so the cold stays on target while you stretch, eat, or just sit down and breathe. Every sleeve works for heat too, so one piece of gear covers both ends of recovery.

Find Your Joint

Each sleeve is shaped for the joint it's built for, with 360 degree gel coverage and about 20 minutes of therapy per session:

  • Ice Sleeve: Built for the knee in sizes S through XL, and flexible enough to move to a thigh, calf, or elbow. The go-to for post-skate recovery and runner's knee.
  • Shoulder Ice Sleeve: One size, fits either shoulder. Made for rotator cuff soreness and post-op shoulder recovery. For everyday support, see our guide to shoulder braces and supports.
  • Wrist Ice Sleeve: Available in S/M and L/XL for wrist strain, tendonitis, and swelling after a fall.
  • Ankle Ice Sleeve: One size, built for cold therapy after a rolled ankle. For support once you are back on it, see our ankle braces for a sprain.
  • Gel Ice Pack: The spare. Stays flexible in the freezer, refreezes as many times as you need, and is sized to drop straight into the pouch on our back brace.

Ice or Heat, Same Sleeve

The gel inserts are freezer and microwave safe, so the same sleeve handles both halves of a recovery routine. Cold helps calm swelling and soreness in the first days after an injury or a hard session. Heat loosens stiff, chronic joints and works well as a warm up before activity. Because the gel stays pliable at either temperature, it conforms to the joint instead of resting on top of it, which is what makes twenty minutes of contact actually count. Need support between icing sessions? See our knee braces for pain.

Twenty Minutes, No Burns

A soft nylon and spandex cover holds the gel at a steady distance from your skin, so you get a full session without the burns or irritation that come from pressing a frozen pack straight against the joint. Twenty minutes on, then let the joint return to temperature before the next round.

Build a Complete Recovery System

Cold therapy helps with the swelling. Support handles what comes next. OG Tape kinesiology tape helps stabilize the joint once the swelling settles, and our recovery gear collection pairs ice with compression, supplements, and topical creams. Dealing with plantar fasciitis? Our plantar fasciitis compression sleeves add all day arch support alongside cold therapy.

FAQs

How long should I ice with the sleeve?

We recommend 15-20 minutes per session, with at least 45 minutes between sessions. The gel packs stay cold for approximately 15-20 minutes depending on ambient temperature.

Can I use the ice sleeve for heat therapy?

Yes. Our gel packs can be microwaved for heat therapy — follow the instructions included with your sleeve. Heat therapy is great for chronic stiffness and pre-activity warm-up.

How do I freeze the gel packs?

Place the gel packs in your freezer for at least 2 hours before use. They remain flexible when frozen, conforming to your body for full-contact cold therapy.

What body parts do you have ice sleeves for?

We offer ice sleeves for knees, wrists, ankles, and shoulders.
