Old Bones Therapy joint support braces for backs, knees, ankles, and more are designed for maximum support and compression, conforming to your body where needed. Whether you just need a little extra stability or you're tired of living in pain, Old Bones Therapy has got your back with our joint braces.

Which Joint Brace Do You Need?

For knees, start with how the joint feels. The Compression Knee Sleeve is knitted compression with a silicone gel pad around the kneecap, slim enough to wear under jeans. If the knee feels loose side to side, the Knee Brace with Springs adds flexible stabilizers on both sides. For the most control, the Knee Brace with Hinges uses rigid hinges that come out as you get stronger. Thighs 23 inches or more? The Big Bones Knee Brace is cut for them.

For your lower back, the Back Brace pairs tension straps and built-in stays with a pouch for an ice or heat pack. Everything for knees lives on our knee braces page, and you'll find sleeves for other joints under ankle braces and elbow braces.

FAQs

What braces help with compression and joint stabilization?

Knitted compression braces do both: the fabric hugs the joint evenly while pads, springs or hinges add structure. The Compression Knee Sleeve is compression plus a gel pad around the kneecap, the Knee Brace with Springs adds side stabilizers, and the Knee Brace with Hinges adds rigid, removable hinges for the most control. For the lower back, the Back Brace uses tension straps and vertical stays.

Should I get a knee sleeve, a spring brace or a hinged brace?

Match it to how unstable the knee feels. A sleeve suits everyday aches and light support, springs suit a knee that feels loose side to side or sports with lots of cutting and landing, and hinges suit serious instability or support after an injury or surgery. The hinges are removable, so the hinged brace can step down to compression-only as you get stronger.

Is there a knee brace for bigger thighs?

Yes. The Big Bones Knee Brace comes in one size, 3XL, for thighs measuring 23 inches and up, measured 4 inches above the center of the kneecap. It's built on a wider V-shape with a flared top and side springs so it stays up instead of rolling down.

Can I ice my back while wearing the back brace?

Yes. The Back Brace has a pouch in the lower back panel that holds one gel pack, frozen for cold or microwaved for heat. The brace keeps the pack in place over the lumbar area, so you don't have to lie down and hold it. Gel packs can be added on the Back Brace page.

Should I see a healthcare provider before wearing a brace?

For everyday aches or a little extra stability, most people start with a brace on their own. If you suspect a tear or a dislocation, or a joint keeps giving out or swelling badly, check with your healthcare provider first. A brace adds support, but it doesn't replace a diagnosis.
