Customers praised this compression shin sleeve for excellent protection during skating, biking, and sports activities. Many noted "solid protection with sufficient compression" and found it "super comfortable" for all-day wear. The sleeve helps prevent injuries, aids healing, and reduces swelling. Some mentioned sizing runs small and wished for extra padding inserts.

Had have surgery remove muscle for my shin. My shin and calf have nerve damage and anything touches it hurts! After trying different things,no help ! Happened upon this ad ! I do hiking and I mean off trail! And everything hits me hurts that area, this has gave me support and my mobility back and confidence to do my hikes !
Started riding flatland again in January after a 37 year hiatus! I already had a compression knee sleeve/brace and trust Old Bones so I went with the Shin Sleeves! Good stuff!
Decided to start looking for shin protection after a painful pedal to shin wreck on my bike. These are so comfortable I forget I’m wearing them while riding.
Long-term review of the shin sleeves…LOVE THEM. Next to forward elbow pad, they are now my most important piece of skate gear. I (usually) wear them without the shin inserts. They are still thick enough to prevent my shins from getting chewed-up/scrapped/etc from board hits. 30+ years of skating and my shins are toast, and the skin down there (what’s left of it / mostly scar tissue at this point) doesn’t heal-up as fast as it used, and is a lot easier cut open. Wearing the shin-sleeves under socks has been a god-send. They are super low-profile, too, which is great. The compression aspect of them is also awesome. Old Bones Therapy I can’t thank you enough for making these, and I can’t recommend these more highly to anyone looking for some shin protection.
I’ve have both OBT shin sleeves (no shin insert) and OBT knee gasket/sleeves on in this pic, so can see how low-profile they are.
Hello,
I suffer from a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy which has caused me to lose my calf muscles. To aid my mobility, I use Custom AFOs, which allow me to lead a somewhat normal life. However, these AFOs tend to rub against my shins, causing them to develop blisters and bruises. Prior to discovering the Old Bones Shin Protectors, I had to alternate between wearing my AFOs, as the bruises were too painful. I am grateful to have found these Shin Protectors, as they have greatly improved my quality of life.
My initial review was not good (1 star) due to my experience with the website Chatbot. I ordered the compression sleeves/shin guards to protect my shins which suffered severe gashes from a recent mountain bike crash. The sleeves I received felt awesome when I put them on, almost immediately relieving my achy lower legs, but I noticed a small hole in the bottom of the slot that holds the shin pads, the result of a small defect in the stitching. I went online and used the chat feature to enquire about the process of getting an exchange. The Chatbot definitely demonstrated the current limits of AI as it indicated that Old Bones Therapy (OBT) would not be able to provide me a replacement at the same discounted price (I had used a promo code to get 15% off) and that I would have to go through the process of getting a refund and then repurchase a new set at full price.
Obviously, as would any customer, I was not happy with this outcome. However, I had almost simultaneously sent an email to Customer Service and Nicole (a human being) responded almost immediately to my issue and initiated shipment of a replacement without delay. Anyway, I am very happy with the product fit, the prompt service I got from Nicole, and look forward to wearing my shin guards out on the mountain bike trails! Thanks OBT!
Only recommendation to OBT would be to use caution when employing robots as a customer service interface...
I’ve been wearing them most every day since I received them, my legs don’t ache at night while sleeping , I will say there is room to go a size bigger, because I can’t get the pads in mine yet , but they are keeping their shape and elasticity so far! Thanks for a great product👍
So I am using these off script. I have been having knee/leg/foot pain from standing 10-12 hours a day. At night once I was off my feet, the cramps were unbearable. Now I wear these all day at work, it helps keep my alignments and such right. When I get home and take them off, the cramps don’t come like they used to. Makes a WORLD of difference. My calves are 19”, so the XXL are snug, but not cutting off blood flow.
Only criticism, the advert says the shin guards are gel. The actual insert is just thick foam. Not a deal breaker, but not what I expected.
I wear these while learning new flip tricks and they prevent a lot of damage to the shins. Thanks for the great product
Solid protection with sufficient compression helps lengthen sessions while staying shin injury free. My shins have always been hyper sensitive to pain with a frequent tendency of developing shin splints. And on this side of 50, they are even worse and seemingly tear like paper then take forever and some to heal. So thank goodness for old bones and skating. My god rides a skateboard!
I bought them after taking a couple painful “shinners” on the skateboard. I take blood thinners so any good smack causes significant hematomas. Haven’t taken a hard hit since then but feel confident it will stop the main impact and keep me rolling. I did size up a so they would be easier to get on and off. Likely will be getting a second pair to put with my second set-up. Would recommend.
I’m happy with my purchase. I think I should have bought the next size bigger. I just wanted the shin guards and the tight ones are harder to remove.
Yup!
I recently banged my shin on coping while skating and suffered a bruised bone. It swelled up and was painful to skate. I ordered the Compression Shin Sleeve and was able to skate again without pain or swelling! This product and company our truly amazing for keeping us all ruling! Thanks OBT!
Fit is perfect and comfort is amazing, thanks
This shin sleeve is helping me to avoid injuries to my lower legs during ground fighting combat stress exercises.
Have definitely helped me in my day to day after braking my leg last year and working in a hot rod shop. The sleeves are awesome. Helps with pain and protects my pins and screws from getting hit. After wearing them I feel like I can do more. The ice sleeves are awesome! Definitely worth the money.
These shin guards are very comfortable. They provide the amount of protection I need. I do wish the padding in the guard was the same gel as the knee sleeves . Also sometimes the padding slides out of the pocket so I wish it was totally enclosed into the sleeve
I bought these cool socks for mtb and I loved them so much that now I use them for long hours at work, and this past weekend I used them for motocross. I would recommend trying these, you will love them.
My edema is pretty bad in my left leg. The compression helps to keep unwanted swelling down. I can wear it all day without any discomfort. Good product.
I actually bought them for mountain biking to protect against pedal strikes and branch whacking so I wouldn’t have to look like an idiot wearing soccer shin guards. Turns out the compression sock part is really great too.
I'm an Aggressive inline blader, and these really help with those nasty rails and ledges.
Turns what would've been a nasty scar, into a light bruise.
I've tried many different kinds of gear but the moment I put this shin sleve up. Everything changed it was perfect I gives me the exact kind of support I need.
